Inspirations: Pendant Lights

I know its early stage but I am already slowly trying to get some ideas for our kitchen pendant lights.  We decided though that we will do this after the handover as just putting downlight will cost us $110 a piece --- yes $110 a pop so if we have 3 in the kitchen and around about 9 in the open space for the lounge and dinning area will already cost us $1320 and that does not include the down lights in all the rooms and the hallway.
MrK knows of someone who is a licensed sparkie (electrician) and he reckon that doing it ourselves after our builder had done the house would be much cheaper for us ...
Take a look at some of the things that I am leaning towards ... Part of putting this in our blog is for me to remember things before all the chaos begins ...

These two are on the top my list as it is great with our grey/black/white colour scheme

I love them all ... if only its not top dollars to get them
Anyway see you in our next post :)

All about Bricks and Roofs today

Today, MrK and I decided to venture out to the roof and brick supplier of our home just to see firsthand and have a feel of our bricks and roofs.  We want to see how it looks like instead of just seeing it on the computer screen.  We wanted to see how it would look during daylight, its flaws, highlights and all.  Even before our brochures were given by our builder with all the choices that we can have, we have already decided on the colour palette.  Today, we nearly doubted our choice of brick from the Wilderness range but there is something about it that draws us back to it, so we put that doubt aside and decided that its really Blackbutt it is!
We had a nice time looking around ... Of course we found nice ones and one in general that MrK cant get his head away from  -  his Gun Metal Blue nice to dream but let's get back to our reality MrK.
Sharing to you what happened today.

Nice to see some sample palette just in case you still can't make up your mind

Some colour sample that you can bring with you while you walk along the many choices of bricks

Ok here it is our brick

More things to see so hurry up

Other bricks in their own ranges

The Gun Metal that MrK adored

Our bricks in the raw

MrK busy looking at other styles and range

Its roof time

Our brick from afar

The flaws or irregularities makes it a unique one

My munchkins are busy entertaining themselves while mum and dad ponders

Coal in Classic Range (Imoressive, opulent, stylish -- that's what the ad said)

These are some of our other choices that we had to go back and forth

We settled for this one ... love it

Love our choice

I initially wanted the Magnun in their Designer Range but changed my mind as we want to veer away from the traditional tile roof that everyone have

Some of the great reason why its better to have a roof tiles

Trying to decide on our gutter colour (left is Ironstone right is Woodland Grey)

Don't think Windspray is good - too light

Back to Ironstone and Woodland Grey again ... then decided later on that we will be getting Basalt which was not in our hand at that time

This should be how our roof tiles should look like when it up there

Coal it is

This would be a roof using the  designer range... yeah not bad but we're sticking to the Classic range

Decisions ... Decisions... Decisions

We have been deciding on what the overall house would look like on the exterior ... We pretty much have the idea but with so many choices, it is enough to do your head in ... So here I am almost every night, playing around with the possible colours of our exteriors. Thank goodness Austral Bricks has the IVisualise to help me with this crazy decision making fully knowing that this will affect the overall aesthetic of the house... permanently!
Here at some that I was able to come up with
I was able to do a daylight and twilight look so I can see the effect

The following are what I have decided on and might not changed (unless I get advices from well meaning ones lol)

Roof is a brick tiles in Nickel (its a dark grey colour)
Fascia is in Wallaby colour (some pics are different but its still light)
Gutter is in Evening Haze colour
The brickwork (rendered) will be in Surfmist
The exposed brickwork is a Blackbutt

The following comparison is to see what colour the garage and window frames will look better
I have used different variations and time (daytime or twilight) just to see the effect

Can you help? Leave a comment below as to which is the best one for you.
