Its Time for Practical Completion Inspection

I think the PCI (also known as the final walk through) is one of those exciting times in building a home, close to the same excitement that I had when I saw our land already slabbed.

We finally put a face to the name as today I finally saw our Site Supervisor (SS) Cameron for the first time (MrK had seen him on several occasion during one of those walk through)

SS Cameron was great too and easy to talk to. Addressed our concerns and even apologised that he was out of action for 3wks, we could have moved in 3wks ago had they provided another SS while he's gone...anyway everything is complete - shower screen in already, bag and paint done, flyscreen put in, third coat of paint done, mirrors in...only few minor details that we raised (including that tiles that's protruding)...bring on handover soon...

So this was what transpired today ...

That moulded door will be put up on Tuesday and remove the plain one 

The waterproofing guy got too excited and waterproofed the sliding door area when it doesn't need to so painter will paint that

Hear Ye Hear Ye

This afternoon our CSR emailed me to say that after speaking to our Site Supervisor, she was informed that a final walk through was set for 29 Sept 2017.

Here's hoping that things will be lightning speed this week and next week so we can really be assured that this final walk through will go through.  

I have heard of people doubting the date given to them considering the amount of work that still needs to be done but I have faith that SS Cameron will push through.

Week 23: Spot the Dots

Visited the thirtyseven today and we found heaps of these green tapes stuck on all the walls and architrave and even on the cabinets.  I think the third coat of painting is going to be underway this week... c'mon hurry up now please BW the suspense is not funny... a few more weeks and we should now when to pretty much move ...

Let there be Lights

We met up with our own electrician on Monday and discussed what we want to have in the house.  We opted not to have our builder put the downlights just for expense reason.  

We did paid for them to place a provision for one spot for the pendant lights so our electrician can follow on that spots ...

After much deliberation and looking around, I opted for a simple pendant lights in black.

Paid for online and just waiting for the deliveries.

Imagine the three black pendant lights sitting over our kitchen benchtop  with four black stool as well ... I cant wait.

Week 22: Bathroom/Toilet Almost Complete

We passed by the house today as we are needing to get a quote from our electrician and to show what we wanted to have outside the house initially but since the tradies left the sliding door open, we were able to see that our toilets have been delivered.... Now all we need is the glass screen for the ensuite and the glass door for the main bathroom and our mirrors and we're good to go... 

I hope we get a letter stating when our PCI would be... I can smell it ... i think we are getting there....

Week 21: Getting There Part 3

Week 21 and we've got floors....so loving our Heartwood Eucalypt floor.... a lot has been done this week and we're so happy... The photos is not doing justice as it is showing sort of brown but in real life it has a combination of a tinge of light grey and a touch of lightest brown and dark shade of grey - a great combination and compliments our grey walls ...

Enjoy looking at them as much as I love staring at it ....

Week 21: Getting There Part 2

Almost five months since we started our build, we see things coming along ... we can smell PCI (Practical Completion Inspection) ... Week 21 and this is what we have ... door fixtures done ...electrical fittings done including all light battens, ducted rangehood, power points (loving my special grey power point in my back splash), conduits, alarm system, gas points inside and out and of course we have heat and lights in all bathrooms ... main floor tiles (which I am so excited about) is about to start tomorrow --- can't wait to see how our chosen floor tiles would look like in all our area... I think  we are now allowed to slowly get excited
